About the Role

We are looking for a general labourer to work as part of our packaging/production floor team. In this role, you will be a key member of the team that handles, produces and packages each and every can, getting it ready for warehousing, distribution & retail. The ability to learn and perform job functions within the canning packaging process is required. Previous manafacturing experience and mechanical aptitude are both assets in helping you be successful in this role. Being a team player is critical since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. The goal is always to help ensure that production procedures will be carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency, and quality while meeting all safety protocols.

Job Responsibilites

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Ensure safe work practices, use of personal protective equipment
  • Perform production tasks such as but not limited to; operating a fork lift, supporting back end packaging by monitoring the production line, moving trays, palletizing product, labeling, carton forming, re-packing product etc.
  • Prepare and organize packaging and materials required for production and inventory
  • Operate specified equipment such as; depalletizer, case sealer, back end packaging machine & shrink wrapper, according to company instructions and operating procedures (training provided)
  • Other duties as required

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Standing for long periods of time and able to lift up to 50lbs
  • Able to work Monday to Friday day shifts and occasional weekend or overtime
  • Ability to do repetative tasks
  • High attention to detail
  • Forklift experience is an asset
  • Ability to work well within a team environment
  • Positive attitude & strong work ethics
  • Mechanical aptitude is an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
