The Opportunity

We're seeking a motivated Sales Manager with electronic payments experience to join our rapidly growing organization. The Sales Manager will be the crucial link between the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and the sales team, responsible for managing day-to-day sales operations, training sales staff, overseeing staff performance, ensuring the development of relevant documentation, and helping ensure the team is meeting sales targets. This position will report directly to the CRO and work closely with other key stakeholders to drive business growth.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of sales strategies and actively participate in their implementation
  • Act as a liaison between CRO and Account Executives, fostering alignment and communication.
  • Lead weekly sales team meetings.
  • Oversee day-to-day sales activities, including overseeing lead generation, prospecting, pipeline management, and closing deals.
  • Ensure the sales team adheres to sales processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance and KPIs, implementing improvement plans as needed.
  • Provide regular updates on sales performance to the CRO and other stakeholders.
  • Own and surpass annual sales targets through proactive leadership.
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of VoPay's product offerings, including features, benefits, use cases, and value proposition.
  • Keep up-to-date with product updates, enhancements, and new releases, and effectively communicate these to the sales team and ensure communication to customers.
  • Develop comprehensive training programs, covering product knowledge, sales techniques, objection handling, and customer relationship management.
  • Provide ongoing training and mentorship to new and existing sales representatives to enhance their performance and productivity.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of robust up-to-date documentation for relevant product information, sales processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with product management and development teams to provide feedback on product functionality, customer needs, and market demand.
  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to attract and onboard top-tier talent.
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in the fintech industry and maintain current knowledge of competitors' products, pricing, positioning, and strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in a sales leadership role within the payment and/or SaaS sector, with a minimum of 4+ years dedicated to managing and uplifting sales teams.
  • 7+ years of sales experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, business, marketing, finance, or related field is an advantage.
  • Experience in mentoring staff and developing training materials.
  • Exceptional communication and team-building skills, capable of motivating and leading a team towards achieving excellence.
  • A strong background in coaching, training, and team development.
  • A proactive, positive attitude, driven by a passion for sales excellence and goal attainment.
  • Experience in generating sales forecasts and analyzing sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Proficiency in using data-driven insights to make informed decisions on sales strategy, ensuring optimized performance and growth.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Motivated and competitive with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Proactive, detail-focused, possessing a self-starter attitude.
  • High energy, highly motivated, and passionate about your work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
