Big White Ski Resort is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the safe repair and maintenance of various vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot and repair road vehicles and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Design and fabricate assemblies when possible
- Maintain and clean the maintenance shop weekly
- Perform and assist with the maintenance of ski lifts
- Repair tools when required and possible
- Communicate effectively with all departments regarding maintenance
- Work cooperatively as a member of the maintenance team, ensuring safe work practices are adhered to at all times
- Trades certification or apprenticeship
- Previous ski industry snow cat maintenance experience is an asset
- Experience in hydraulic and hydrostatic systems
- Experience in vehicle electrical systems
- Experience in suspension, tires, braking systems, and drive lines
- Experience in engine, transmission, and axles
- Proficiency in welding and cutting
- Driver's license
- Proven self-motivation and ability to work well with minimum supervision
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong guest service skills
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work well within a diverse team environment
- Flexible availability, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and lie down for periods during the shift
- Ability to lift and carry 25 kg (55 lbs)
- Ability to kneel, bend, twist, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill duties
Wage: $38.00/hour
Location: Big White Ski Resort
