Full-Time Truck Driver

Summary: We are seeking a reliable and experienced truck driver to haul and deliver bulk animal feed to customer locations within BC.

Otter Co-op is a diverse and growing organization serving the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and BC Interior since 1922. We operate multiple businesses, including food and pharmacy stores, liquor stores, feed mills, and gas stations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Haul and deliver bulk animal feed to customer locations within BC
  • Complete daily pre and post trip inspections, communicating any repairs required
  • Confirm delivery details and special considerations prior to departure
  • Maintain positive working relationships and communicate regularly with Dispatch/Office Staff
  • Ensure compliance with commercial driving regulations and safety protocols
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and safety
  • Contribute to the team in living the corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • 3+ years verifiable commercial driving experience
  • Valid Class 1 Drivers Licence with air brakes endorsement
  • Licensed to drive standard transmission Class 1 vehicles
  • Training at an approved driver training school is preferred
  • Highway experience is an asset
  • Must have a clean driver's abstract
  • General understanding of agriculture business and/or farming background is an asset
  • Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Motivation and ability to work under pressure and in a busy work environment
  • Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
  • Able to perform physical job duties including lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
