**Job Summary:** McKesson is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care to patients in an ambulatory setting, administering medical therapies and promoting patient health through education and counseling.
**Job Description:**
As a Registered Nurse at McKesson, you will be responsible for assessing patient health status, administering medical therapies, and educating patients on their condition and medication. You will work autonomously and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care. Your critical thinking and clinical decision-making skills will be essential in assessing patient needs and developing individualized care plans.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assess patient health status using pre-screening processes to determine eligibility for medical therapies
- Insert peripheral intravenous lines or establish access via central lines using sterile technique and best practices
- Review patient files and prior post-administration records to understand patient history
- Handle and reconstitute biologic or oncology medication according to manufacturer and Health Canada guidelines
- Administer medical therapies and provide post-administration observation and assessment
- Document patient care services and manage records in accordance with INVIVA policies
- Participate in training and mentoring of new clinic staff
- Maintain knowledge of medical therapies, INVIVA policies, and quality, safety, and infection control standards
**General Responsibilities:**
- Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Establish a compassionate environment and support patients
- Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a safe and clean working environment
- Ensure proper operation of equipment and maintain clinic medical and stationary supply levels
- Maintain up-to-date professional and technical knowledge by completing educational workshops
**Requirements:**
- 2+ years of relevant experience as a Registered Nurse
- RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, Canada, and a member in good standing
- Infusion certification or equivalent experience
- CPR certification and ACLS certification (asset)
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent assessment and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and listening skills
**Compensation:**
McKesson offers a competitive compensation package, including base pay, annual bonus, and long-term incentive opportunities. Our base pay range for this position is $50.51.
