Summary: Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for casual employment in La Ronge and surrounding communities, providing nursing care services and covering leaves of permanent staff.

Licensed Practical Nurse

Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in La Ronge and surrounding communities. As a casual employee, you will provide nursing care services to clients and cover leaves of permanent staff in the community.

Duties:

  • Work independently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team, evaluating client progress and updating care plans based on ongoing nursing assessments.
  • Provide counseling and case management for individuals with mental health and/or substance use issues.
  • Deliver specialized nursing care for home care and personal care to clients as required.
  • Perform nursing treatments and procedures as ordered by physicians, such as catheterizations, injections, and wound care.
  • Provide rehabilitation procedures in consultation with occupational therapists and physical therapists.
  • Offer palliative nursing care and coordinate in-home respite services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designate.

Qualifications:

  • Registered with the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses (SALPN).
  • Experience working with children and youth with FASD and their families is an asset.
  • Experience working with mothers and infants in the area of infant development is an asset.
  • Acute or home care experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and demonstrate organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills.
  • Experience and knowledge with computers and office equipment are an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset.
