The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Project & Shutdown Mgmt Lead to join our Mobile Equipment Project and Services team

As an Project & Shutdown Mgmt Lead you will lead projects ($20-30M annually) including the management of all activities from FEL 1 studies through AFE approval, execution, and handover to the Project Owner. This includes management of detailed engineering design, procurement, project controls (Safety, Scope, Schedule, Quality, Cost), systems, construction support and management services for individual Projects. This is a permanent position.

Additionally, in this position you will:

  • The incumbent will execute work using project management framework in a streamlined and effective manner.
  • The incumbent will work in partnership with respective operations and support areas (reliability, engineering, environmental, legal, procurement etc.) to ensure efficient and safe execution of scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • The incumbent will assist in the requisitioning of parts & services associated with the Project, as well as to create work orders, operations and manage the Schedule associated with Project and Shutdown work in SAP. This includes collaborating with the integrated planning team to ensure work is integrated into the 7/21 schedule and major events calendar.
  • The incumbent will work with Site operational planning teams to create the Master Schedule for the Plant shutdowns. Successful candidates may be assigned at any of our Ontario Mine or Surface plant locations.
  • This position will report directly to the Superintendent of Mobile Equipment Project Team.
  • The role holder will become a team member of the Integrated Asset Management organization.

About You

Education:

  • The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in engineering, Technical or trades discipline. Preference to experience in Mobile Equipment Management preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or Mobile Equipment Management related role is required.

Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have preferred knowledge and understanding of VPS Technical, project management principles and strategies and strong project management skills.
  • Front line supervisory capability and experience is preferred but not required.
