Anaesthesia Assistant

Fraser Health is seeking an experienced Anaesthesia Assistant to join our team. As a key member of the perioperative team, you will provide clinical support to anaesthesiologists and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. Your responsibilities will include assisting with patient care, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining equipment. You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist anaesthesiologists with patient care, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
- Provide technical support for surgical procedures, including setting up and operating equipment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth and efficient patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Graduation from an accredited post-graduate diploma Anaesthesia Assistant Program.
Graduation from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy Diploma Program plus three (3) years' recent related clinical experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT), and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapy (BCSRT).
Current certification in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
