About the Role:

The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the nursing team, responsible for providing safe, competent, and ethical nursing care to residents. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe, competent, and ethical nursing care and make decisions within the LPN scope of practice.
  • Participate in the development, revision, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
  • Complete nursing assessments consistent with the LPN scope of practice.
  • Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate resident plans of care.
  • Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards.
  • Document according to professional and organizational standards.
  • Maintain competency and update knowledge by availing of educational opportunities.
  • Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.
  • Represent nursing on various committees as deemed necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Administer medications.
Qualifications:
  • Graduation from high school or equivalency.
  • Successful completion of an approved LPN education program.
  • Current registration with the Council for Licensed Practical Nurses (Nfld. & Labrador).
  • Knowledge of computer skills and an ability to work with Meditech is an asset.
  • Current certification in BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support).
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct.
Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • CG 29 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $25.26 to $28.05 per hour.
  • Labrador Allowance.
  • Financial incentives, including Student Bursaries, Long-Term Care Recruitment Bonus, and Labrador Grenfell Sign On Bonus.
Hours of Work:

The successful candidate will work 75 hours bi-weekly, with variable shifts.
