Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook a diverse variety of menu items according to banquet event orders.
  • Ensure all dishes meet brand standards in taste, presentation, and consistency.
  • Assist the sous chef in developing banquet menus and specials based on seasonal ingredients and trends.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure thorough cleaning and sanitization of the kitchen and work areas.
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper food storage and labelling.
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service, particularly during peak times.
  • Prioritize tasks and efficiently manage time during busy service periods.
  • Assist with receiving and storing groceries and prepping food for future use.
Qualifications:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Previous exposure to banquet or high-volume food preparation is advantageous.
  • A strong familiarity with Saskatchewan cuisine staples.
  • Availability to work 2 to 3 shifts during the week and on weekends.
  • The ability to stay on your feet for extended periods.
  • Excellent skill in handling multiple tasks and working effectively in a high-pressure setting.
  • Fastidious attention to detail in both food preparation and presentation.
  • Flexible in adapting to new recipes, cooking techniques, and changes in kitchen procedures.
  • Effective communication with team members and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.
  • Completion of a culinary arts program or relevant certification is beneficial.
