Overview

The Codiac Regional Policing Authority (CRPA) is looking for a strategic and hands-on leader to become its inaugural Executive Director. This pivotal role reports to the Chair of the CRPA Board and collaborates closely with all Board Members and key stakeholders. The Executive Director will fulfill the CRPA's mandate and execute its strategic plan in collaboration with key stakeholders.

The CRPA is responsible for providing regional policing services to Dieppe, Moncton, and Riverview municipalities. The CRPA ensures robust strategic planning, comprehensive police coverage, and sound fiscal management of the Regional Police Service. The CRPA maintains accountability to the public, partner municipalities, the province, other stakeholders, receives input from key stakeholders and interested parties, and operates transparently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans, goals, and objectives in alignment with the mission and vision of the CRPA.
  • Oversee all CRPA's operations and manage CRPA's compliance with regulatory requirements per its by-laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Board of Directors and its partners, fostering positive relationships.
  • Manage events related to the CRPA and assist with organizing public consultation activities and programs as required.
  • Support the Board in fulfilling its governance responsibilities, including attending board meetings, providing regular updates on departmental activities, and implementing board directives.
  • Lead and support the development and review of policies and procedures.
  • Support the preparation and management of the board's budget, including monitoring expenditures, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring fiscal accountability.
  • Review and ensure that the invoices for CRPA meet procedures established by the CRPA or the RCMP.
  • Attend all board and other committee meetings.
  • Support administrative duties, such as, but not limited to, scheduling and coordinating CRPA meetings and maintaining pertinent information about board membership (mandates, attendance, contact information of board members, security clearances, preparation of meeting materials, etc.).
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Working proficiency in French and English is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminology, public administration, or a related field. A combination of other education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of enforcement principles, practices, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Experience in law enforcement administration, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, is an asset.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and strategic planning.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and addressing equity, diversity, and inclusion issues.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including criminal history, credit check, and drug screening.
  • Ability to perform duties in various environments, including office settings, field operations, and emergencies.
