Aquatic Exercise Instructor
Join our team as an Aquatic Exercise Instructor and lead dynamic, safe, and effective aquatic exercise classes for individuals with varying abilities.
Job SummaryAs an Aquatic Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and leading aquatic exercise classes that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. You will create a safe and enjoyable environment, engage participants, and provide motivation and support to ensure successful outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities- Create a safe and enjoyable climate by working with lifeguard staff to start and finish classes on time.
- Lead classes in a professional manner, providing verbal, visual, and kinesthetic cueing for exercises and techniques.
- Provide options and modifications for exercises to accommodate participants' comfort and intensity levels.
- Supervise and provide feedback to ensure participants complete safe movements, especially when using equipment.
- Plan and prepare music and exercises that meet the objectives and goals of the program.
- Share information about the community centre with class participants.
- Respond to customers' needs and questions with accurate information and guidance.
- Prepare safety equipment, mats, and audio systems for classes.
- Mentor new instructors and complete timesheets and statistics collection sheets as required.
- Collaborate with the aquatic and/or facility team to ensure effective emergency response.
- Experience leading group aquatic exercise classes.
- Current group aquatic exercise certification from a recognized association.
- Emergency First Aid/CPR B Certification.
- Ability to lift light supplies and work in a primarily pool environment.
