The University of Ottawa Library is seeking a dynamic and innovative Student Success Librarian to join our team. As a key member of our library, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of foundational literacy skills in students.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head, Learning and Student Success, the Student Success Librarian will design and deliver learning resources, tools, and activities that support the development of information, media, visual, digital, and data literacies. You will work collaboratively with library colleagues to assess learning outcomes and cultivate relationships with campus services supporting teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver dynamic learning resources, tools, and activities to support the development of foundational literacy skills
  • Collaborate with library colleagues to assess learning outcomes and inform program development
  • Cultivate and sustain relationships with campus services supporting teaching and learning
  • Advocate for the educational role of the Library
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from an accredited institution
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in a relevant field
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in both French and English
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and assessing information literacy programs
  • Familiarity with relevant literacy frameworks or approaches
  • Knowledge of best practices and current trends in supporting literacy skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Adaptable, flexible, and able to adjust to a changing environment
  • Problem solving and decision making skills
