About the role

We are looking for an Automated Test Developer II who will play a key role in supporting our growth.

What you'll do:

  • Perform a variety of tasks related to automating functional tests to evaluate software quality, operational workflows, and corporate profitability.
  • The degree of complexity may vary between and within projects. Testing and analysis may cover many platforms in our software ecosystem to verify their logic and check that our business rules are being properly implemented.
  • Work with our functional testing automation frameworks for mobile devices and desktops.
  • Maintain automated regression test suites.
  • Participate in testing the company's mobile applications and adaptive websites.
  • Analyze and report test results.
  • Other duties related to running automated testing routines.
  • Participate in events with an agile team using SCRUM or KANBAN methodologies.
  • Analyze and translate use cases, user histories, functional and technical specifications.
  • Work meticulously and accurately and produce deliverables of exceptional quality.

What you need:

  • DCS or ACS degree in a field related to IT or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in test automation development.
  • Computer skills:
    • Using object-oriented languages (e.g. Java), JavaScript and XML.
    • Using Eclipse and/or IntelliJ development tools.
    • Using Selenium WebDriver tools.
    • Excellent knowledge of VBA and Excel files and macros (an asset).
    • Experience with Jenkins and GIT.
    • Interest in native mobile apps for Android and iOS.
  • Strong skills in automating systems testing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to priorities assignments and manage change.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Aptitude for making complex situations understandable to others.
  • Knowledge in damage insurance and underwriting notions (an asset).
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (an asset).
  • Knowledge of JIRA (an asset).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Availability to work outside normal business hours on occasion (weekends, etc.).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English (French is an asset) – Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
