The New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission (NBLASC) is seeking an individual to join the Corporate Services Branch in Fredericton as a Financial Analyst on a temporary basis.

The Corporate Services Branch provides leadership in the planning, development and implementation of a full range of financial, and administrative strategies, policies and services. The Branch is also responsible for statistical reporting, accounts payable processing and record keeping.

What you will do

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible to:

  • Certify payment authority and processing of a high volume of private bar invoices;
  • Manage receivables, including chargebacks to government;
  • Manage the lien database including timely provision of pay-out amounts;
  • Manage the control recovery system for Corporate Services;
  • Regular and ad hoc financial analysis and preparation of materials for the Board of Directors;
  • Assist with yearly audit;
  • Bank Reconciliation;
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

Need to have (Essential qualifications and skills)

· Completion of a university degree in Business Administration or a related field supplemented by a minimum of 1 year related experience;

OR

· Completion of a diploma in accounting or a related field supplemented by a minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have (Asset qualifications):

Experience with:

  • accounting software and case management systems and analysis;
  • Payment Authority guidelines, internal control procedures;

· accounting, journal entries, financial administration;

  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), particularly Excel.

You possess the following behavioural competencies:

· Flexibility;

· Client service orientation.

Wage

$1,910 – $2,669 biweekly - Pay Band 3 – Management and Non-Union Pay Plan
