Job Title: Journeyman Carpenter

Bouchier is seeking a skilled Journeyman Carpenter to join our IOL Kearl Facilities Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
  • Perform carpentry work, including framing, finishing, and repairing doors, floors, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings.
  • Build and install door and window framing, as well as wooden and steel structures such as partitions, buildings, and office additions.
  • Operate power tools and equipment, including planers, joiners, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and safe completion of tasks.
  • Provide training and mentorship to apprentices as required.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Alberta Journeyman or Red Seal Certificate is required.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract is required.
  • CSO (Common Safety Orientation) certificate is required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role is required.
  • Facilities Maintenance Experience preferred.
  • Framing or Finish Carpentry experience, drywall skills an asset.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, and Physical Demand Assessment.
  • Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Balance for working on scaffolding.
  • Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a work team.
  • Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
