What's the Opportunity?

Aecon is looking for a Cost Control Lead to join the Urban Transportations Solutions group and assist with dynamic transit projects in Canada. We are committed to supporting projects that enhance transportation experiences through faster and more convenient travel, starting with assembling the best team.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish project control guidelines and responsibilities.
  • Guide project controls and operations teams to address emerging issues and drive toolset/process adoption.
  • Conduct project performance analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy of key project metrics.
  • Monitor tracking, forecasting, progress, and cost reporting.
  • Collaborate with management on cost control monitoring and analysis.
  • Analyze cost data and develop performance monitoring strategies.
  • Supervise project change management and risk identification/mitigation.
  • Identify opportunities for project controls improvement.
  • Contribute to Risk Mitigation Plan.
  • Oversee and support the development of project controls personnel.
  • Promote an inclusive culture for equity and career progression.

Your Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Proven expertise in planning, scheduling, financial analysis, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles.
  • Ability to lead project controls staff effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, customer-focused, and accountable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project controls software.
  • Advocate for inclusion and diversity.
