Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage Residents: Build meaningful relationships with residents through regular conversation and activities.
  • Program Coordination: Assist the recreation team in planning and implementing programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • One-on-One Support: Provide individualized support to residents, ensuring their needs are met and their dignity is respected.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor resident care and services, reporting any concerns or issues to the relevant authorities.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Assist in coordinating volunteers and community resources to enhance the lives of our residents.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with peers to coordinate activities, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our residents.
  • Equipment Management: Maintain and manage recreation equipment, including inventory and maintenance concerns.
  • Event Setup and Cleanup: Assist in setting up and cleaning up after events and activities.
  • Compliance: Operate in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Residential Care Experience: Preference given to candidates with experience in a residential care setting.
  • Education: High school diploma required.
  • Driver's License: Valid provincial Class 4 driver's license an asset.
  • Certifications: CPR and First Aid certifications an asset.
  • Safe Food Handling: Safe Food Handling Certificate preferred.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills required, with the ability to interact with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners.
  • Organizational Skills: Superior organizational skills necessary, with the ability to handle multiple resident requests.
  • Communication Skills: Superior oral and written communication skills required.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
