Job Summary

The Physiotherapist will work in two outpatient programs at UHN, providing physical therapy assessment and treatment to patients with musculoskeletal and cancer-related conditions. The successful candidate will be a key member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating with other professionals to deliver patient-focused care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical therapy assessment and treatment to patients with musculoskeletal and cancer-related conditions
  • Collaborate with the inter-professional team to deliver patient-focused care
  • Support patients' health behavior change and participate in program planning and development
  • Comply with patient safety responsibilities and hospital policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy (BScPT) or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • Membership with National and Provincial Professional Associations is preferred
  • Previous experience working with Oncology and MSK patients is preferred
  • Myofascial Release Therapy training and experience preferred
  • GLA:D training is preferred
  • Experience assessing and treating lymphedema preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B Level or C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada
  • Experience as member of interprofessional team required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) required
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Complies with the legislation outlined in the Regulated Health Professions Act, (1991)
  • Complies with the Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Demonstrates competence with departmental and hospital safety, emergency and infection control procedures
  • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and to function in an independent, self-directed manner
  • Computer proficiency required
