Faster.Smarter.Safer. Aecon Utilities is committed to delivering top-notch projects. With a vision to be Canada's premier utility construction provider, we are seeking a Fibre Optic Splicer to help us achieve this goal.

Reporting to the Superintendent, the Fibre Optic Splicer will be tasked with connecting, testing, and ensuring the integrity of outside plant telecommunication networks in the Toronto/GTA region.

What You'll Do Here:

• Perform splicing, testing, and troubleshooting on infrastructure projects.
• Update, document, and report daily work activities.
• Ensure accurate safety documentation and hazard awareness.
• Conduct inspections for preventive maintenance.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documents for project requirements.
• Promote inclusivity, diversity, and career advancement through fostering a culture of belonging.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Prior experience in Fibre Optic splicing, preferably in the Rogers Network.
• Expertise in OTDR testing and documentation.
• Proficiency in performing power meter tests and documenting results.
• Experience with various splicing techniques and fibre cable terminations.
• Familiarity with fibre closures, patch panels, and other related equipment.
• Hands-on experience with connectorizing cables and working in live fibre closures.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, electrical hazards, and confined space work.
• Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Effective communication and prioritization abilities.
• Advocate for inclusion, diversity, and belonging.
