Job SummaryWe are seeking skilled carpenters to join our team for a 4-month camp dorm renovation project at the Cenovus Sunrise Site. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction codes and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot, with proficiency in executing their trade with a high degree of quality and care.
Key Responsibilities- Interpret client requirements and blueprints to plan work processes.
- Ensure adherence to maintenance standards and codes.
- Repair and install doors, floors, cabinetry, windows, partitions, ceilings, and exteriors of buildings.
- Build and install door and window framing.
- Perform hand and bench work in a carpentry workshop.
- Operate planers, joiners, drill presses, power saws, sanders, and other woodworking machinery.
- Skilled in either Commercial Painting, Mudding & Taping, Finish Carpentry, or Flooring Installation.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- CSTS and OSSA Regional Orientation, OSSA BSO, or CSO.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Previous Renovation Experience is considered an asset.
- 3 years' experience in a relevant role preferred.
- Primarily residential or commercial experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive Drug, Alcohol, and Physical Demand Assessment.
- Ability to stand, crouch, and kneel for long periods of time.
- Manual dexterity.
- Balance for working on scaffolding.
- Strong mathematical, scientific, mechanical, and logical reasoning abilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a work team.
- Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
- All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
