Business Analyst Consultant, Savings and Retirement

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst Consultant to join our team at Equitable. As a key member of our Savings and Retirement department, you will play a critical role in driving business growth and delivering exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead requirements analysis and review to identify optimal solutions for business needs
- Assess IT estimates and determine MVP requirements to meet business benefits while balancing project costs and timelines
- Develop strategic plans through feasibility studies and business cases
- Consult with management on business needs, stakeholder needs, opportunities, and operational effectiveness with recommended solutions for process improvements
- Document requirements and facilitate requirements review sessions with business sponsors, project stakeholders, and IT partners
- Participate in technical analysis meetings and daily stand-ups with IT partners and support Systems Analysts during the development of functional specifications
- Closely work with developers and other IT resources to advocate for the business and ensure user satisfaction
- Work with Quality Assurance Analysts to ensure test strategy mitigates business risk
- Support User Acceptance Testing by planning, developing test cases, executing tests, and considering automated testing techniques
- Create or assist in writing user documentation, instructions, and procedures
- Support post-implementation testing to ensure coverage of user testing and prevent production issues
- Identify and escalate project risks and issues
- Develop and execute Process Redesign implementation plans, leading and coaching the business through implementation and ensuring strong change management
- Provide coaching and mentorship for Business Analysts/User Acceptance Testers at all levels (junior through senior) by assessing gaps and providing training
- Manage project scope, schedule, reporting, issue tracking, and escalation for non-IT projects
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
- 5 years as a Lead Business Analyst or Systems Analyst on large IT projects in the financial services or insurance industry
- Strong experience in Process Redesign, including data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control, and risk analysis, as well as modern business methods and performance measurement techniques
- Expert-level knowledge of Business Analysis, including process, tools, and techniques
- Experience developing, coaching, and mentoring Business Analysts/User Acceptance Testers at a junior to senior level
- Proven success in developing and implementing training programs
- Ability to write business cases, project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Strong knowledge of systems development methodologies
- Knowledge and experience with agile development and product ownership
- Experience developing non-functional requirements (e.g., application performance, scalability, throughput)
- Strong critical thinking and analytical capability, with the ability to define and resolve complex issues
- Excellent documentation and presentation skills (written and verbal) with attention to detail
- Strong organization and time management skills with well-developed project management skills
- Strong interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
- Strong conceptual skills and ability to exercise flexibility and judgment in a changing environment
- Business Analyst Certification or significant previous experience as a BA
