About the Role

The Senior Estimator will lead and mentor a team of estimators, providing expert guidance and fostering a collaborative environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of estimators and providing expert guidance and mentorship.
  • Utilizing extensive experience in construction estimating across diverse scopes of work, including civil, structures, track, and stations.
  • Conducting comprehensive reviews of drawings and tender documents to grasp the complete scope of work and submission requirements.
  • Demonstrating expertise in design models and integrated digital delivery (IDD) software for precise project scope evaluation and quantity generation.
  • Developing meticulous bills of quantities (BOQ) by leveraging experience and employing various advanced techniques, including Bluebeam.
  • Establishing material price lists, labor costs per manhour, equipment requirements, and assembling crews while accurately pricing BOQ items.
  • Obtaining competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • Thoroughly researching historical data, such as purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis, benchmarking, and reports, to compile insightful summary reports and establish robust estimating guidelines for the project.
  • Maintaining meticulous records of working documents as essential backup for estimating figures.
  • Providing valuable insights into the design process to ensure a seamless transition from planning to execution.
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including project managers and executives, to deliver accurate and comprehensive estimates that align with project objectives.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Over 7 years of hands-on experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully estimating projects of significant scale and complexity.
  • A solid educational foundation with a university degree or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and comprehending complex construction drawings and blueprints.
  • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and cost control techniques.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, outstanding communication abilities, and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, enabling you to guide and inspire your team to achieve outstanding results.
  • Advanced proficiency in standard Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.), with additional experience in Adobe, Visio, and Bluebeam.
  • Impeccable time management and organizational skills, ensuring efficiency in time-sensitive situations.
  • A results-oriented mindset with an unwavering commitment to quality and excellence.
