Job Summary: Residential Support Worker

Provide residential support to adult male offenders in a community facility, maintaining a safe and secure environment while promoting positive interactions and rehabilitation.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of client interactions and facility activities
  • Receive and respond to incoming calls, communicating with clients and management as needed
  • Monitor client behavior and security of the facility, conducting regular checks and reporting incidents to management
  • Prepare and maintain client files, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations
  • Perform other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the facility
Working Conditions

This is a permanent, full-time position based on 37.50 hours per week, with a variable schedule determined in consultation with your supervisor.

  • Work a 24/7 schedule, including night shifts and weekends
  • No travel required
Qualifications and Education
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary studies in Social Services or related field
  • Valid certification in First Aid & CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
  • Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered
Experience and Knowledge
  • Minimum one year experience working with adults in the criminal justice system
Skills and Capabilities
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Strong oral communication skills to establish trust with clients
  • Competent in word processing, including Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel
  • Ability to undergo background checks and obtain necessary clearances
  • Ability to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army
