Your future role on the team As a member of the electrical engineering team in Trail you will be expected to apply established calculation and design methods when preparing plans, schematics, lists of materials, lists of cables, technical specifications and project estimates. You will also be expected to carry out various project steps at electrical substations and generating facilities, all within driving distance from our office.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Member in good standing with EGBC
  • 1-2 years of experience in engineering as well as proficiency in reading and preparing electrical schematics of various types (single lines, three lines, and interconnection drawings)
  • Available for short-term assignments
  • Knowledge of MS Office and other database applications
  • Ability to draft electrical schematics in AutoCAD
  • Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and safety in electrical installations
  • Asset: Bilingual (English and French) spoken and written
  • Asset: Knowledge of power systems (HV, MV, LV)
  • Asset: Knowledge of ETAP, EasyPower, CYME and EMTP-RV software
  • Asset: Field experience in the hydroelectric or mining & metals industries
  • Asset: Generation engineering experience
