Job Title: Specialist, Audio-Visual & Technology Services

Support the delivery of healthcare to professionals via video conferencing and innovative technologies, leading technical operations and ensuring equipment and staffing meet client needs.

About the Role

This key member of the ETMS team will provide technical expertise, coordinate specialized services, and troubleshoot audiovisual equipment in real-time. The Specialist, Audio-Visual & Technology Services will also procure, deliver, and set up ETMS equipment and peripheral devices, and assist in the expansion of the ETMS program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Audiovisual Technical Responsibilities and Event Administration
    • Coordinate educational technology activities and events, including broadcasting, video casting, and bridging with various networks.
    • Provide technical specialist expertise, contributing to the development of innovative technical solutions and applications.
    • Research and assess audiovisual technology, investigating technology for specific client needs.
    • Troubleshoot hardware and software, pre-setting, testing, and identifying new opportunities for technology enhancements.
  • Event Administration
    • Intake requests and schedule education, administration, and conferencing events in various databases and scheduling systems.
    • Create and manage databases for tracking and reporting educational audiovisual activities.
    • Book rooms and equipment accordingly, coordinating end-user requirements.
  • Maintenance and Installation
    • Coordinate hardware maintenance, audit, servicing, and replacement schedules.
    • Perform hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics, and software and peripheral device inventory purchasing and licensing.
    • Install structured cabling, build equipment racks, and configure audiovisual control systems and network-enabled equipment.
  • Procurement and Delivery
    • Procure, deliver, set up, move, dismantle, and store ETMS equipment and peripheral devices.
    • Receive, document, and process requisitions and work orders.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving
    • Troubleshoot and problem-solve audiovisual equipment in real-time, answering technical issues via the technical assistance help line.
    • Multi-task troubleshooting numerous technical issues with clinicians across UHN sites.
  • Program Expansion and Development
    • Assist in the expansion of the ETMS program and the use of audiovisual technology across UHN.
    • Provide expert advice regarding the acquisition of AV hardware and IT software.
  • Project Management
    • Meet project timelines and update the team regularly.
    • Oversee projects that utilize new and existing technology, and implement results into regular workflow.

Qualifications
  • Completion of a 3-year community college program in multimedia, audio and video recording, or recognized equivalent.
  • 3-4 years practical and related experience and/or 2 years on-the-job training.
  • Strong AV background and skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
