Aecon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to join our Utilities Construction team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and take corrective action as necessary.
- Coordinate and manage the activities of administration, scheduling, and construction teams.
- Represent the company with clients and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
- Lead and motivate project staff, promoting a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
- Technical school background or equivalent experience in the construction industry.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in the Utilities contracting industry.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with construction management software.
- Sound knowledge of construction techniques, practices, and fundamentals, with a focus on civil infrastructure for power distribution projects.
- Experience with contract and subcontract management, including negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and be willing to travel within Ontario as required.
- Be a champion of inclusion and diversity, with a commitment to promoting a culture of equity and belonging.
