City of Maple Ridge Fitness Trainer

Job Summary: We are seeking a Fitness Trainer to assess customers' fitness goals and develop customized personal training and conditioning programs in our state-of-the-art recreation facility.

Position Overview: As a Fitness Trainer, you will provide expert guidance and motivation to customers on a diverse array of weight and cardio equipment. You will evaluate fitness levels and abilities, offering personalized support to individuals on their weight training and fitness journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess customers' fitness goals and develop customized personal training and conditioning programs
  • Provide expert guidance and motivation to customers on weight and cardio equipment
  • Evaluate fitness levels and abilities, offering personalized support to individuals
  • Supervise and instruct customers on a diverse array of weight and cardio equipment
  • Evaluate and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a diploma or certification program in community recreation, leadership and/or sports science
  • Sound knowledge of the principles, practices and objectives of individual weight training and fitness programs
  • BC Recreation and Park Association Basic Fitness Leaders – Weight Training certification
  • BC Recreation and Park Association Personal Trainer Certification
  • Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR/AED Certification
