Role overview

We are seeking an expert Sr Software Engineer to join our growing team at Cognizant Our strength is built on our ability to work together. What you'll do

· Lead the development and implementation of scalable software solutions using Java Spring Boot and React JS.

· Design and optimize databases with MySQL and SQL ensuring data integrity and performance.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software components and third-party programs.

· Troubleshoot debug and upgrade existing software applying best practices in coding and security.

· Ensure software scalability and reliability through effective design and code reviews.

· Participate in the full software development lifecycle from conception to deployment.

· Apply domain knowledge in Life and Annuities Insurance to enhance software solutions and meet business needs.

· Utilize JavaScript and React JS to create dynamic and responsive user interfaces.

· Ensure compliance with project timelines and deliverables maintaining high-quality standards.

· Contribute to the documentation of software architecture and design decisions.

What you bring to the role

· Proven experience with Java Spring Boot MySQL SQL JavaScript and React JS is required.

· Strong background in Life and Annuities Insurance domain is mandatory.

· Experience with AWS is highly desirable offering an edge in cloud-based solution development.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

· Finalization of tools, software's, and framework needed for development, deployment, monitoring etc.

· Handle and lead technology governance throughout the program scope.

Working arrangements

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a Hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Canada. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a balanced work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
