Our operations include the Palmarejo gold-silver complex in Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska, and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. We also have a significant exploration project in British Columbia, Canada.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Geologist to join our exploration team at Coeur Silvertip. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for executing exploration programs, including mapping, soil sampling, drill rig supervision, core logging, and managing field logistics. You will also be responsible for evaluating results and developing regional and deposit-scale geological models.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in exploration program planning to ensure that programs are designed considering alternative options, costs, target rankings, and are in line with company strategy.
  • Reduce overall exploration costs through effective management, option analysis, minimizing delay times, and control of consumables.
  • Ensure data capture is subjected to rigorous quality control.
  • Develop regional and deposit-scale geological models as exploration progresses.
  • Review and update exploration targets, rank and stage programs, and account for costs.
  • Ensure drilling programs are executed in a safe manner and communicate progress and results to management in a timely fashion.
  • Update lithological and structure wireframes/models with new data.
  • Deliver priority targets in a timely manner to deliver datasets for Mineral Resource updates.
  • Assist the Exploration Manager with reporting requirements to government and other stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology; post-graduate degree in exploration or mineral deposits is advantageous.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant exploration experience, with progression to senior roles.
  • Previous experience with Carbonate Replacement Deposits is desirable.
  • Experience developing geological models at deposit- and regional-belt scales.
  • Ability to draft and interpret cross sections and level plans, and experience in using these to constrain 3D geologic models.
  • Experience in the fundamentals of exploration: mapping, litho sampling, soil sampling, diamond drill core logging.
  • Excellent understanding of geological settings, deposit models, and ore-forming processes.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environment, and community.
  • Good hands-on experience in the design and management of soil geochemistry and drilling programs.
  • Geological/geochemical/geophysical interpretative and integration skills with regional-scale target generation experience.
  • Competence in MicroMine, Leapfrog, ArcGIS, ioGas, acQuire, and other related software platforms.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with APEGBC.
  • Valid driver's license.
Additional Information
  • Willing to work a two-week on/off schedule, working 12 hours per day at a remote camp.
  • Based salary range of $130,000 to $140,000 based on skills and experiences.
