Join our Home Visiting Program for Infants as an experienced Speech-Language Therapist. Provide trauma-informed, evidence-based services in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. Make a real impact on children and their families.

What can I expect to do in this role?As part of our 15-person Home Visiting Program for Infants team, your daily activities will vary based on client needs.

You can expect to:

  • Conduct specialized clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
  • Administer standardized assessments and interpret clinical data.
  • Lead consultations with families, schools, and community agencies.
  • Document and report on client progress.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for clinicians and community providers.
  • Collaborate with physiotherapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare providers.
  • Travel regularly to provide in-home services.

Note:
This is a temporary, part-time position working 29 hours per week. The weekly pay will be pro-rated based on part-time hours, ranging from $1,160.30 to $1,389.42.

How do I qualify?Mandatory requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized university.
  • Current registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
  • Valid Ontario 'G' Driver's license.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and ability to travel.
Speech-language pathology and technical knowledge

  • Expertise in speech-language pathology with children and youth facing complex mental health and developmental challenges.
  • Clinical experience with pediatric speech-language pathology assessment tools and techniques.
  • Willingness to obtain additional training in areas like alternative and augmentative communication, feeding and swallowing, parent/caregiver coaching, autism, developmental disabilities, selective mutism, and phonological awareness.

Note:
Qualification as an Assistive Device Program (ADP) authorizer is an asset. Preference is given to those with specialized experience in Speech-Language Pathology.

Consultation and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to provide consultation on relevant legislation, ministry policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of cultural and human diversity principles to support client needs, and ability to work within transdisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary teams.
  • Interpersonal, collaborative, and consultation skills to work with professionals, staff, and community representatives.
  • Ability to engage with children, youth, families, and community service providers to develop agreement on clinical approaches, interventions, and recommendations.
Analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to coordinate information, collect data, and conduct analysis to develop and monitor client support plans.
  • Ability to gather relevant information for assessments and treatment needs and produce relevant reports.
  • Ability to manage information and data from various sources and prioritize workload within timelines.
  • Proficiency in standard computer software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Communication Skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills to prepare reports and materials.
  • Ability to relate to a variety of people and adapt to different roles.
  • Skills to interview clients to complete assessment tools and documentation.
  • Presentation skills to effectively communicate with clients, families, and community service providers.
