Indigenous Bail Caseworker position available at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre, working with Indigenous and non-Indigenous clients in the Bail Verification Supervision Program.
Salary: $60,000 per annum
Responsibilities:
- Supervise Bail Court orders and monitor bail release conditions.
- Provide support to clients using a culturally appropriate approach.
- Work within an interdisciplinary social justice team.
Requirements:
- Postsecondary diploma/degree in Social Justice Services or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Bail Verification and Supervision Programs in Ontario.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and history.
- Understanding of probation and parole officers, jail, correctional centres, community resources, treatment and detention centres.
- Ability to articulate criminal and social justice issues.
- Excellent case and file management skills, stress management and time management skills.
- Ability to engage people to build trust and rapport.
- Superior analytical and decision making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
