We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Maintenance Operations Manager. This role involves managing and optimizing maintenance operations within our bakery, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and providing troubleshooting support for unscheduled line shutdowns.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and execute work orders, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Create and print SAP work orders and PO requests, coordinating with the planner to meet deadlines.
- Organize and execute PM priorities on a daily basis, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Provide troubleshooting and support for unscheduled line shutdowns, minimizing downtime and ensuring food safety.
- Manage and direct the work of on-site contractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Maintain an open line of interdepartmental communication, fostering a positive work environment.
- Attend production meetings and collaborate with QA to ensure food safety and quality.
- Initiate plans to motivate workers, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Ensure reliable weekly startup of all production areas, estimating worker hour requirements and recommending measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.
- Lead the team through troubleshooting breakdowns, downtime reports, and root cause fault analysis.
- Maintain and provide training records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Create a positive work environment, promoting employee safety and well-being.
- A Millwright or Electrician license to practice in Ontario or an Engineering degree/diploma is required.
- 5-7 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Certification as a class B refrigeration operator would be an asset.
- Experience in food manufacturing is an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Must be proactive and self-motivated with the ability to lead others.
- Proven trades experience in technical problem-solving and decision-making.
- Must be willing to pursue additional certification/licenses.
- The willingness to adapt to a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of Government regulations as they apply to OHSA.
- Knowledge of GMP's and HACCP.
