Medical Laboratory Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing laboratory tests and analyzing results.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain laboratory samples from patients and perform laboratory procedures according to established policies and protocols.
- Analyze results and prepare related reports, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communicate test results to healthcare teams and other stakeholders, using effective communication skills.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance and identify and report malfunctions in equipment.
- Assist in the evaluation of technical procedures and provide input in the development and maintenance of policy procedures.
- Certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS).
- One (1) year of recent related experience, including experience in the designated discipline within the last six years, and/or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Recent working knowledge of the assigned section or sections.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and technical competence to perform tests used in the assigned section of the laboratory.
- Basic awareness of research process.
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities of settler colonialism on Indigenous Peoples and familiarity with addressing Indigenous-specific anti-racism, anti-racism, and Indigenous Cultural Safety.
