Reporting to the Planer Superintendent, as the Planerperson you will have strong mechanical knowledge, an attitude that all failures are preventable, effective problem-solving skills, and a desire to improve processes/equipment. Edson Forest Products provides an exciting and collaborative work environment for an individual who is seeking challenge and growth.

You'll Do:

  • Collaborating with other departmental supervisors to help drive issue resolution through to completion
  • Communicating daily with Planer Superintendent regarding maintenance issues and repetitive problems
  • Hydraulic systems troubleshooting experience;
  • Ability to read blue prints, plans and schematics;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision;
  • Organizational and planning skills as well as proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook considered an asset;
  • Experience with CMMS systems and Maximo
  • Review major failures of equipment or processes
  • Identify recurring problems or trends
  • Initiate and conduct root cause or other structured investigations
  • Utilize findings to propose changes or projects
  • Project Implementation and Supervision
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment considered an asset.

You have:

  • Certified Planerman Technician or Millwright with a valid Interprovincial ticket;
  • Have proven leadership experience
  • Have previous experience in an industrial environment
  • Communicate effectively in oral and written form with all levels of the organization
  • Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Have the desire to learn, grow, and succeed

Compensation Package:

  • The hourly pay range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location.
