Job Title: IT Manager Type: 2-month Contract
Start date: April 1st, 2024
End date: May 31st, 2024
Hourly rate: $100/hr; negotiable
Hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Hours/Week: 37.5
Location: 70 Spine Road, Elliot Lake, Ontario
Responsibilities:
- Manage tasks among team members – we have four team members – ensuring clear assignment of responsibilities and deadlines.
- Follow up on tasks to ensure progress and timely completion.
- Provide support to the team as needed.
- Prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance, aligning with organizational goals.
- Resolve conflicts among team members and with clients, fostering a positive work environment.
- Conduct one-on-one meetings with team members to offer support, guidance, and feedback.
- Attend on-site meetings with other managers, SLT, and MAC.
- Collaborate with senior management to prioritize projects based on strategic objectives and resource availability.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and deadlines
- Follow up on security and network issues, coordinating with the security consultant – iSecurity company – to ensure compliance with security policies and protocols.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party service providers.
- Manage IT procurement and requirements.
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Oversee IT asset management, including procurement, deployment, and disposal.
- Conduct regular IT audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Serve as a liaison between IT and other departments to align technology initiatives with business goals.
- Monitor and optimize IT infrastructure performance, leveraging monitoring tools.
- Provide technical guidance and support to end-users on IT-related issues.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals to address security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Manage software licensing and ensure compliance.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including IT policies, procedures, and system configurations.
- Participate in IT budget planning and expenditure monitoring with senior management.
- Respond to escalation calls after working hours.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer science, and/or business, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of proven experience as an IT Manager in a medium to large enterprise, demonstrating a track record of successful project management and team leadership.
- In-depth knowledge of technical management, computer science, digital security, cloud computing, network infrastructure, systems administration, and enterprise software applications.
- Proven ability to effectively lead and manage a diverse team of IT professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Exceptional project management skills, with a proven track record in organization, planning, time management, and prioritization, ensuring the successful execution of multiple IT projects.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and analytical abilities, enabling the identification and resolution of complex technical issues and challenges.
- Possesses strong interpersonal and team-building skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and build cohesive teams.
