Job Summary

We are seeking a Family Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in family law practice and be able to handle a wide range of family law matters.

Responsibilities
  • Manage family law files independently.
  • Handle separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division.
  • Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials.
  • Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients.
  • Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications.
  • Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials.
  • Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end.
  • General civil litigation experience is an asset.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of current experience in British Columbia family law practice.
  • Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently.
  • Strong judgment, work ethic, and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to become part of the community served.
  • Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership.
  • Willingness to commute to or from Victoria up three days per week.
Compensation
  • Base salary depending on the year of call.
