About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of dedicated professionals who deliver pre-hospital care to residents and visitors to the Yukon. As an Advanced Care Paramedic, you will provide advanced pre-hospital care, utilizing your education and skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

Yukon's Emergency Medical Services (YEMS) team delivers a wide scope of pre-hospital care, providing medical interventions, treatments, and quality care in every corner of the Yukon. We value leadership, dedication, and partnership in our work.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced pre-hospital care to residents and visitors to the Yukon, utilizing Advanced Care Paramedic education and Advanced Life Support (ALS) skills.
  • Work in ground ambulance operations with Yukon EMS, providing medical interventions, treatments, and quality care.
  • Collaborate with allied agencies, such as Police, Fire, and Health Care Professionals, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and maintain strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a hospital-based or other recognized Advanced Care Paramedic education/program.
  • Recent experience providing pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency medical treatment and transportation.
  • Valid ACP license from a paramedic governing body in Canada without conditions or restrictions.
  • Medical clearance.
  • RCMP check with vulnerable sector check.
  • Class 4 Yukon driver's license (or equivalent).
Working Conditions:

This job requires shift work, including weekends and standby, travel, wearing a uniform, physical effort, hazards, and discomfort as specified within the job description.
