Job Title: Material Handler

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team at Shared Health. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient acquisition and management of supplies, inventory, and logistics within our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Picking and receiving items from the warehouse, operating a tugger, and putting away supplies on the wards
  • Delivering non-SCM items such as specimens, medical records, or linen
  • Providing excellent customer service and communicating effectively with staff and patients
  • Managing inventory and supplies, and performing tasks in a computerized environment (SAP)

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Previous experience in warehousing, receiving, stocking, and storage, linen, and distribution of supplies
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a good command of English
  • Ability to work under pressure, with competing demands, and provide efficient service delivery
  • Conscientious, organized, and excellent attention to detail
  • Physical ability to tolerate constant standing, walking, bending, and heavy lifting
