Job SummaryRegistered Dietician for research study within the Gastroenterology division at BC Children's Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the development of a whole food blended diet for a research study examining its efficacy and gut microbiome modulating capacity in pediatric Crohn's disease.
- Assist with writing grant applications, research proposals and ethics submissions.
- Perform literature searches and contribute to the creation of a quality improvement survey for Crohn patients.
- Recruit and educate study participants and their families on the nutritional therapy intervention.
- Conduct in-person and virtual visits with study participants, obtaining anthropometric measures, calculating nutritional requirements, evaluating food diaries and analyzing intakes using ESHA food processing software.
- Select and implement validated dietary assessment methods to evaluate compliance to the liquid diet.
- Contribute to writing a pilot research paper.
- Current full registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC).
- Good Clinical Practice and TCPS2 Core certification (or willingness to complete training if not already obtained).
- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one's own.
- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
