Job Description

Position: Psychologist

Facility: Nurses Alumni Wing

City/Town: Saskatoon

Department: Mental Health Community Clinics & Programs - Adult Clinical Services

Type: Full-time regular

Shift Information: Days, Evenings, Weekends

Hours of Work: 224 hours per 6 weeks

Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Psychologist - PhD $56.568 to $69.012

The Psychologist will provide psychological assessments, diagnostic services, and treatment to adults experiencing significant distress or dysfunction related to mental disorder, trauma, or problems in living. Clinical services will be provided in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Deliver psychological assessments, including neurological testing
  • Provide diagnostic services and treatment
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team

Travel is required for this position.

Requirements
  • PhD in Clinical Psychology
  • Membership in the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, counseling, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge in psychological assessment and treatment methods and tools
  • Knowledge in social and cultural practices
  • Knowledge in substance abuse and addictions, including cause and effect
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and the community at large
  • Knowledge of the treatment and management of clients with mental illness
  • Ability to provide counseling and therapy to individuals, couples, and groups
  • Knowledge in mental health assessment systems
  • Knowledge in diverse cultures, values, and traditions
  • Knowledge in various mental disorders, etiology, treatment, and intervention
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge in counselling practices for concurrent mental health/substance abuse
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Authorized Practice Endorsement within the SKCP
  • HSAS membership
  • Registration/eligibility with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists
