Commercial Custodian

We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Commercial Custodian for our commercial properties.

Responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of common areas. Our custodians play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and inviting environment for shoppers and visitors.

Hours of work can vary.

Your responsibilities:
Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, as well as dusting surfaces, fixtures, and furniture throughout the mall. Cleaning escalators, elevators, and staircases.
Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors. Restocking toilet paper, hand soap, and other supplies as needed.
Emptying and disposing of trash and recycling bins throughout the mall. Ensuring proper segregation and disposal of waste according to mall guidelines.
Cleaning and maintaining glass windows, doors, and display cases to ensure a clear and presentable appearance.
Performing regular maintenance on mall floors, including sweeping, mopping, and buffing. Identifying and addressing any stains, spills, or damages promptly.
Cleaning and maintain common areas such as food courts, and seating areas. Removing debris, organizing seating, and ensuring a tidy and comfortable environment for visitors.
Reporting any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate personnel. Assisting with minor repairs or maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs or fixing loose fixtures.
Interacting with mall patrons in a friendly and helpful manner. Providing directions, answering questions, and addressing any cleaning-related concerns.
Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe and hazard-free environment. Using appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
Working collaboratively with other custodial staff and mall management to ensure effective and efficient cleaning operations.

Your qualifications:
Previous experience as a cleaner considered an asset.
Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
Familiarity with Occupational Health & Safety and WHIMIS.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
