Senior Life Underwriting Consultant

This role is for a Senior Underwriter who will apply sound and strategic judgement in evaluating mortality risks, providing best-in-class underwriting solutions and delivering timely service and case updates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embrace a philosophy of continuous improvement in risk acumen
  • Ensure competitive underwriting offers are consistently delivered on a timely basis
  • Exercise creativity and sound judgement to find risk solutions for complex medical and financial cases
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal and external sales partners
  • Partner and negotiate with reinsurers to drive optimal outcomes
  • Assist in the development of underwriters through regular feedback and meaningful referrals
  • Promote a culture of excellence that balances operations and risk

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Life underwriter with experience in the affluent and high net worth markets
  • Signing authority of $5M+
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Growth mindset and philosophy of continuous improvement
