SGL, a leading geophysics company, is seeking an experienced Avionics Engineer to join its Aircraft Maintenance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the company aircraft to a high standard, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and promoting a culture of safety and excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain Aircraft to High Standard: Ensure the company aircraft are maintained to the highest standard, in accordance with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and the Maintenance Control Manual (MCM).
- Collaborate with Maintenance Manager: Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to ensure the aircraft are up to date and safe for flight, and to identify areas for improvement.
- Support Regulatory Compliance: Assist in ensuring the timely completion of company and customer regulatory audits, and maintain a thorough understanding of CARs and other relevant regulations.
- Promote Safety Culture: Understand, comply with, and promote all company safety precautions and policies, including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations.
- Travel and Work Environment: Work in Ottawa head office as well as at SGL field bases worldwide, and be willing to travel internationally for occasional field work.
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer: Hold an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with an "E" licence, and have experience on C208, DHC-6, or other General Aviation (GA) aircraft.
- Garmin Installation Experience: Have experience with Garmin installations, as SGL is a Garmin authorized dealer.
- Travel and Work Requirements: Be willing to travel internationally for occasional field work, and have a valid passport and driver's licence.
- Canadian Aviation Regulations: Have a knowledgeable understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations.
- Transport Canada Restricted Area Pass: Be able to obtain a Transport Canada restricted area pass.
