We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children and Family Support Worker to join our team at the Department of Community Services. As a key member of our Child and Family Wellbeing team, you will play a vital role in supporting children, youth, and families in need.

Our team is dedicated to advocating for and supporting children, youth, and families in need, and we are seeking a like-minded individual to join our team.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Assist Social Workers with documentation and case planning
  • Accompany Social Workers on home visits and provide support to clients
  • Enter case plans and other documentation into our computer case management systems
  • Aid Social Workers in making collateral contacts and referrals
  • Provide support and assistance to clients in a variety of settings

Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed a Child & Youth Care Worker diploma from a provincially approved post-secondary institution
  • Understanding of child development, family dynamics, and community resources
  • Knowledge of the physical, psychological, and emotional needs of children and youth in a family setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
