Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent is part of the nursing home management team. Duties include, but are not limited to, managing accounting staff and overseeing the complete financial operations of the nursing home and its subsidiaries.

NATURE OF POSITION

· To manage the Finance Department including the preparation of Financial Statements by posting transactions, carrying out GL reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.

· To ensure completeness and accuracy of all financial transactions for timely management reporting.

· To maintain controls over all receipts, disbursements and related transactions.

· To support Department Managers in budgeting, reporting, and compliance.

REQUIREMENTS

· Degree in Business with an Accounting focus.

· Minimum of five years of relevant and referenceable experience.

· Registration in good standing with CPA New Brunswick.

· Computer literate with proficiency in the programs Excel, Word and Outlook.

· Ability to work well with others and function as a team member.

· Must be detailed-oriented and comfortable working with deadlines.

· Must provide a Criminal Record check.

· Must provide pre-employment medical.

· Must be able to handle confidential documents discreetly.

· Record of good work attendance.

· Bilingual in English & French will be an asset.

· Knowledge of SAGE Software will be an asset.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Posting of transactions and reconciliations of General Ledger Accounts.

· Bank reconciliations & posting of related transactions on SAGE.

· Prepare & post journal entries as and when necessary.

· Assist in the preparation of Budget Reports and Financial Statements.

· Preparing & filing of GST/HST returns and all other statutory filings.

· Verification of invoices/GL posted by Accounting Clerk (Accounts Payable).

· Processing payments and printing cheques.

· Oversee matching invoices with Credit Card Statements and allocating General Ledger Accounts.

· Oversee the posting of Credit Cards transactions and reconciliations.

· Keeping records and reconciling transactions

· Verification of revenue received from various sources, ensure timely posting in general ledger and make appropriate follow up for prompt collection.

· Submitting Revenue Reports as required.

· Develop, implement and maintain appropriate cost controls, including procurement policies and standard operating procedures.

· Any other related duties that may be entrusted from time to time.
