CAD Designer position available at Arpac, a leading provider of material handling equipment and industrial storage solutions in Western Canada.

We are seeking a full-time CAD Designer to join our Engineering and Design team. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience designing customized racking parts and systems, experience using AutoCAD, and a post-secondary diploma in Computer Aided Design.

As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing accurate drawings and layouts for clients and inspecting custom designed racking systems onsite. You will collaborate closely with our Engineering and Installation teams to identify and troubleshoot design issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing customized racking parts and systems using AutoCAD
  • Producing accurate drawings and layouts for clients
  • Inspecting custom designed racking systems onsite
  • Collaborating with Engineering and Installation teams to identify and troubleshoot design issues
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Civil Structural Architectural Drafting from an accredited educational institution
  • 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD to design selective/push-back/drive-in racking systems
  • 2+ years of experience designing customized racking parts to fit various racking systems
  • 2+ years of experience working with forklifts as they relate to the design of a wire guidance system, and forklift interfaces for custom racking systems
  • 2+ years of experience inspecting custom designed selective/push-back/drive-in racking systems, while working under the guidance of a BC-registered Structural Engineer
  • 2+ years of experience with torque specifications, embedment, clearance issues as related to engineering requirements and the BCBC 2018 and BCBC 2024
  • Previous experience using a micrometer to identify and record used racking systems
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with personal vehicle to travel throughout BC to perform inspection work
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong multi-tasking ability while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Proven strong detail-oriented skills
