Job Description

Live Assets | IT Staffing Solutions is hiring a Network Engineer to join our client’s IT infrastructure team. The primary role would be ensuring core networking systems are secure, standards-based, and resilient.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for network device deployments and configurations as part of the project implementation team.
  2. Act as a subject matter expert for networking, assisting colleagues across the IT teams with your skills, knowledge, and experience in networks and networking.
  3. Deploying, configuring, and maintaining of network and associated equipment.
  4. Review and discovery of Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti/UniFi, HP Aruba, Dell, and other vendor switching/routing equipment to meet new business solutions or site requirements.
  5. Perform changes in Cisco Meraki firewalls, Ubiquiti switches and access points, IoT devices, and the company’s specific equipment.
  6. Create documentation for new systems and services, including both technical and non-technical audiences.
  7. Responsible for ensuring the company’s networks are up and running.
  8. Provide third-line support of networking equipment and networks at the company’s business locations.
  9. Ensure network infrastructure best practice is maintained to ensure system security and availability.
  10. Collaborate with Server & Cloud engineers to assist with network infrastructure implementation and documentation of procedures.
  11. Provide additional escalation support for remediation projects.
  12. Ensure residual issues are resolved according to defined timelines.
  13. Utilize Microsoft 365 for project communications and file management.

Necessary Skills

  1. Must be fluent in English and French.
  2. 5-10+ years of progressive experience in network engineering.
  3. Understanding of network topologies and protocols (i.e. IP addressing, subnetting, routing, VPN, virtualization, DNS zones, DHCP scopes, and VLAN management).
  4. Layer-2 and Layer-3 experience for networking technologies (i.e. VLAN, STP, Wi-Fi, 802.1x).
  5. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and MS Office 365, Active Directory, Azure, and Intune.
  6. Knowledge & administration of Microsoft Windows Server platform, VMware, iDRAC, and Hyper-V.
  7. Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist, or Microsoft Certified Azure Network Engineer Associate are desired.
