LifeLabs Medical Laboratory Services is seeking a responsible and patient-oriented individual to join our team in Brockville, ON as a Mobile Lab Patient Technician.

Our Mobile Lab Patient Technicians play an important part in on-site patient care in locations including private homes, commercial facilities, retirement homes, and long-term care facilities. This is an active and rewarding role that will let you build relationships with patients and see the difference that you make in their lives and healthcare outcomes.

The successful candidate will support the mobile collections department based out of the Brockville location and servicing the Leeds and Grenville area. Daytime shifts may vary Monday to Friday with potential for weekends based on operational needs. The successful candidate will receive a minimum of 20hr/week. A valid G license is required as well as a reliable vehicle.

Your Responsibilities Will Include:

  1. Organizing a daily schedule of visits to facilities and private residences in order to collect specimens as per physicians’ requests, planning your route according to courier times, specimen integrity, and required travel time.
  2. Performing phlebotomies, connecting/disconnecting Holter monitors, and performing ECG tracings.
  3. Collecting and delivering specimens to designated labs for testing.
  4. Accessioning, spinning, separating, and preparing specimens for transport to reference labs as required.
  5. Booking patient appointments, requesting required information from patients, explaining the specimen collection process, and ensuring patients have followed necessary test protocol prior to specimen collection.
  6. Liaising with doctors, facility staff, and CCAC staff regarding patient problems, changes in scheduling, specimen collection procedures, and other matters.
Covid-19 vaccinations and a booster shot are required for this role.

This is a hybrid role.

Hiring Range: 24.02 - 28.05

The hiring range has been established; however, the final salary recommendation will be determined based on the level of experience, education requirement, external market conditions, and internal equity.
