Join a team of great people who are passionate about what they do and committed to supporting each other’s growth. We’re looking for a Senior Production Underwriter for our Vancouver office. We offer a hybrid work structure with the ability to work remotely two days a week.


The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in Group and Special Risk underwriting including AD&D, Disability, Life and Out of Country Medical. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for assisting the team with business development via new and existing broker relationships. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Special Risk and interacts regularly with brokers, clients and other Sutton staff across department lines.


Job Duties

  • Underwrite new and renewal business across the above-referenced product lines.
  • Drive business development through the creation of new broker relationships.
  • Act as account manager for certain brokers and clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and onboarding of new accounts.
  • Attend client meetings, conferences and presentations with fellow colleagues as required.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of Accident & Health underwriting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and analytical skills.
  • Organized and strong time management skills.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Bilingual (English/French) preferred
